How I made a Fan Forged Block of Wood holding 3 Batarangs with 3D Printing.
As dedicated Batman admirer I modeled a simple piece of wood in my computer holding Batman Begins Batarang replicas, blending a simulated piece of wood with modern 3D printing techniques.
The process began with a detailed digital sketch crafted in CAD software, capturing the Batarang’s sleek curves and sharp edges with precision. Every line was crucial to embody its iconic look.
Once the design was perfected, a 3D printer churned out a plastic prototype, allowing me to refine the model before printing the piece of wood.
The final touch was painting, turning the 3d-printed wood into a bold tribute to Gotham’s protector, ready to hold the batarangs.
Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting Your Own Wood holding Batarangs
Begin by gathering your painting materials and start printing the downloaded files.
Next, print your Batarangs and glue them together to add thickness. Start painting the wood with some brown base colors, then add a wash of shades and paint the highlights in green like on the photos, Repeat this process as often as you like until you’re satisfied.
For painting the Batarangs, opt for deep black or charcoal gray to capture that classic Batman vibe Batarangs. Apply thin, even coats, letting each dry fully for a rich, professional finish.
Feeling creative? Dry-brush with silver to add scratches and wear to the Batarangs.
The Batlogo is far more than a design—it’s the heart of Batman’s identity.
It stands for justice, courage, and unyielding resolve against Gotham’s shadows.
Its bold silhouette reassures the city’s people, with sharp lines showcasing Batman’s combat skill and winged curves hinting at his stealthy agility.
The logo also challenges us to face our fears, much like Batman harnesses his to protect others.
Colors I used:
